These are character designs for a CGI animated theme park attraction originally entitled "Journey to Paradise" for Threshold Entertainment.  Like "Finding Nemo" this story involved a group of sea animals moving across the ocean (in this case, to South America) during a migration. My process usually involves working out the basic silhouette of a character with the director using small rough sketches (often in silhouette). Once that silhouette is agreed upon, I work out smaller surface details on larger sketches until a final design emerges. Need character sketches for your animated project? Let's talk!
